Abstract
In 2007 saw a total of 209 large-sized flat panel displays showcased by 16
panel makers. The technologies used in these displays included a-Si TFT-LCD,
LTPS TFT-LCD, AM-OLED, Color Sequential LCD, and E-paper. Most of the displays
were designed for LCD TV, industrial, monitor, digital signage, or notebook PC
applications; the displays were heavily concentrated in the 12-, 13-, 20- to
29-, 30- to 39-, 40- to 49-, and 50-inch-plus panel size categories. In terms
of functionality, a high percentage of the displays offered high contrast,
wide viewing angle, high resolution, rapid response, and high color
saturation. This report presents an in-depth analysis of the technologies used
in the large-sized panels, their applications, functions, and specifications,
to provide a basis for forecasting panel makers' plan for large-sized panel in
2008.
