Description

The optoelectronic components market has grown strongly in 2005 and 2006 and is forecast to reach well over $11 billion in 2012. The market is dominated by visible LED lamps. The production of high brightness LEDs and, in particular, high power LEDs (1W+) supports new applications with considerable market potential; such as electronic signs and signals, automotive lighting, backlighting of large screens and general illumination. The wireless IR market is forecast to show growth in IRDA components for cellular terminals. Continued growth is forecast for high speed optocouplers.
