Abstract

This report is based upon the continent' s most popular cities in terms of foreign tourist arrivals. This database pulls together arrivals and overnight statistics sourced from over 100 city tourist boards and city tourism organisations (CTOs).

A combination of factors make each of the cities featured in this report attractive to leisure tourists, including ease of access, value for money (real or perceived), culture, history and physical attractions, as well as activities like shopping, dining and entertainment. These things are also important to a significant proportion of business tourists and those who travel to a city to visit friends and relatives (VFR).
